Zara's kids fashions for fall

The advantage of crossing the equator is that you can see the winter fashions before winter hits you.

In Morumbí Shopping Center, São Paulo, little boys T-shirts sport English words -- that's nothing new for kids clothes, but this year the exotic locations celebrated are in Canada. Including Ontario. Wonder what images that conjures up for a Brazilian toddler.

Judging by Zara and nighbors, little girls can look forward to a dusky pink and olive palette. Very subdued and cool.

What Brazilian kids most want for Christmas

Today in São Paulo, Katia Barros, the new strategic planner for Publicis Brasil told me that the gift most requested by Brazilian children is a cellphone. What's more, yesterday her team completed research showing that 10-year-old Brazilian boys were spending hours on YouTube downloading videos of Ronaldinho.

Corine Proveau-Miles in the US, last week shared the information, that the top premiums for tweens in the US were the Sega hand held games in McDonald's Happy Meal.

Moral: If you're considering a kids promotion, don't neglect tech.

Mother/daughter morning runs

New in Chicago this year... pairs of mothers and daughters taking morning jogs together. Good for mom's maturing figure and good for assuaging her fears that her daughter will fall prey to the kid obesity epidemic.

And they're so well-matched in height and stride. Ripe for a sponsorship!

Have you seen it in your town?
